Insanity Workout Review
Insanity is a total body workout that requires no gym or equipment. You exercise right at home, using your own body weight for resistance. The program is based on a fitness method called “max interval training.” In traditional interval training, you exercise at a very intense pace for a short period of time, and then rest for longer periods in between. The idea is to increase your aerobic fitness level while burning fat.
Beachbody LLC Beachbody LLC is an American multinational corporation that uses direct response infomercials and multi-level marketing to sell fitness, weight loss, and muscle building home-exercise DVDs. The company’s best-known product is Tony Horton’s P90X, and Shaun T’s Insanity, whose TV ads have become some of the most frequently run infomercials in the United States.
Beachbody was founded in 1998 by Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon in Santa Monica, California. The company offers a variety of different in-home health and fitness products, including the well-known Insanity program by Shaun T and P90X exercise program developed by Tony Horton.
How Insanity works? If you’ve ever been to a Spin class, you know how that works. You motor along at a moderate pace for awhile – then all at once, you kick up your speed and heart rate – just for a minute or so. After that, it’s back to a lower gear, giving you plenty of time to catch your breath.
But with INSANITY, you do exactly the opposite. You work flat out in 3 to 5-minute blocks, and take breaks only long enough to gulp some air and get right back to work. It’s called Max Interval Training, because it keeps your body working at maximum capacity through your entire workout. You keep pushing your limits – so your body has to adapt. That’s how you get in such insane shape in just 60 days.
Simply put, the Insanity Workouts are hard! This program is loaded with 10 different insanity workout DVD’s, which combined, make the Insanity Workout the most intense and extreme workout program you have ever seen!

Advantages of Insanity workouts
The workouts are led by Shaun T, a lean and motivating instructor and there is a gym full of exercisers that he pushes along the way. Though they’re all very fit, they do take breaks throughout the workouts so you’re not the only one coughing up a lung. You will notice the following advantages.
- A Well-Structured Program – The program is all laid out for you, complete with a calendar of your scheduled workouts, making this a snap to follow (if not to actually do).
- Effective – These workouts burn lots of calories with high intensity interval training designed to push your limits. You get a lot done in a short period of time.
- Easy to Follow – The workouts aren’t easy, but most of the moves are straightforward and athletic with no choreography or equipment to worry about.
Who can do Insanity? One misconception is that the Insanity Program is so extremely difficult that it is intended only for novice athletes. That is certainly not the case. Anyone can do the Insanity workouts at their own pace since the purpose is to do as many reps as you can. Shaun T stresses this from day one and reminds you repeatedly in each DVD that you should be working at whatever your maximum capacity may be. The perk in all of this is that you can do the program repeatedly, two or more times consecutively, and each time you will achieve better results. You will build your endurance each time you complete it and, each time, you will reach a higher number of reps and higher maximum capacity.
However, people with heart disease, arthritis and pregnant women can choose moderate workouts that are easy on joints or get the doctors approval.
How quick are the Insanity results?
Usually you will start to see the results by the end of the first week. There is rarely an insanity workout review out there that points that you will see results even after the 60 day period is over. As almost all of the Insanity exercises are compound in nature, you will first see the results in the form of tightening of the muscles all over your body. That’s the first week.
The abdomen will look flat, the biceps and shoulders already shaped.
You will also notice your thighs getting leaner, thus you will be able to fit in some old pants of yours much soon.
It is very intense, so be ready to give it your all when you are ready to take the plunge. Working out at that level means results in much less time. The rewards will be some serious cardio along with calorie burning and muscle sculpting. What you will need to do when deciding to embark on the Insanity journey is commit to doing the workouts as specified in the calendar each day. If you take a week off, you will have a difficult time starting up again. It may help to recruit a workout buddy to do the workout with you and help keep you accountable.
