While it’s true that building a bigger and stronger back is typically done with free weights and machines, there are some killer body weight only exercises you can use to TURN ON sleeping back muscles and strengthen that back of yours quickly.
Using nothing more than a pull up bar and a low bar, these 5 exercises done in a circuit with very little rest instantly burn those large powerful back muscles like the lats, rhomboids, traps and spinal erectors.
And we emphasize ‘healthier’ back since so many back workouts neglect the spinal erectors and exercises that really WAKE UP the back musculature that supports your spine. Hitting the lats is always good, but you must take care of the stabilizing muscles as well if you want to improve longevity and avoid injury!
Use this routine as a stand alone workout and repeat if you like OR implement this as a FINISHER to absolutely fry those back muscles right before you leave the gym (or home gym). No weight, no problem. This can be an intense workout for all level lifters, beginners to advanced.

3. Hang Pull-Up
4. Inverted Row
5. Bear Crawl Finisher
Sets, Reps & Time will vary. Perform as many rounds as you like.
